rules for Kinky

  • Please keep submissions on theme; your story should feature romantic, sexual, and/or kinky interactions between male-identified characters, generally in a gay context.
  • Be sure to select the proper publishing ‘hub’ site for your story. Refer to the sites’ descriptions to find the one that fits best. Note that you can cross-post to several of our ‘hub’ sites if your story fits more than one of them!
  • Non-consensual aspects must involve fantastical methods of change/control. The primary or central method of coercion cannot involve realistic ‘methods’ such as named drugs or substances.
  • No sex or manipulation/hypnosis involving children or young teens.
  • All relevant characters must be depicted as sexually mature.
  • Stories that glorify or encourage bigotry (racism, homophobia, etc.) outside of a kink context are strongly discouraged and only approved at the discretion of the site.
  • No hard violence, blood, gore, or snuff. No mutilations, no dismemberment.
  • Non-fantastical depictions of bestiality are not permitted. Fantastical contexts (furries, shifters, monsters, aliens, etc.) are permitted by default unless they hew too closely to non-fantastical depictions or contexts.
  • The story must be yours. Do not repost someone else’s story here. Email the original author and ask them to post it instead.
  • Please format your story so that it is readable (e.g., avoid no-paragraph, wall-of-text submissions).
  • Your story must be at least 1000 words long.
  • No ‘teaser’ stories where the ending is paywalled (such as behind a Patreon), unless using the Sponsored Story funding perk. Full rules on this policy are here.
  • All AI-created or AI-assisted stories must follow our special rules around AI (including proper tagging, frequency of posting, etc.) and those rules can be found here.

  • For all realistic BDSM scenarios, characters in the story must consent to what is happening to them.
  • Realistic consensual nonconsent stories (aka, stories with characters willingly forfeiting their right to not consent) can only be submitted in the consensual nonconsent category. Parallels to realistic sexual abuse, drugging, or violence are not allowed.
  • Non-consensual stories (e.g., slavery, kidnapping) must be sufficiently fictional and unrealistic in tone, and posted in the non-consensual category. Stories with fantastical methods of loss of control should be cross-posted to Spiral and follow the Spiral rules.
