Tfw writing porn

So, I’m only making this post because I want to vent a little, but I’m also interested in hearing from others.

A problem I have - as a writer anyway - is that I find it kind of hard to get the imagery I want across. It’s something I want to improve on, but that’s a whole nother story. In particular, I the thing I want to get mostly across is what the people are wearing, how they are presenting themselves, how they view themselves and each other.

So in order to better get the image in my head onto paper, I usually go and looking on the internet for different types of underwear. Sometimes, I have a vague idea of what I want (like, okay, he’s wearing a jockstrap, now I need to find what kind), other times I know exactly that they’re wearing a frilly pink thong with lace on the sides or whatever.

By the time I find the right whatever, I’m usually hard thinking about the character wearing that. That’s good. However, by the time I find it, I’ve also found a bunch of other stuff which is good, some of which I want to buy for myself or others.

Which then leads me to making purchases because of my dick. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Anyone else have like…weird things/stories they do/happened to them because of their writing? Has writing porn also lead you to buying more lingerie/sex toys on the internet? Does your dick and/or hole also tell you that yes, I really do need Andrew Christian’s entire new line of Pride Month Jockstraps?

Maybe you should write a story about an author writing a story, and becoming a “victim” of the characters in the story. (Many authors speaking about how they just keep writing because their characters take on a particular persona which seems almost beyond the author’s control.)

I don’t write that way. The way I write is totally controlled. Like a sculptor who chips away at a block of stone to get the right image, I continuously refine my prose in order to get it to express what I feel. In so doing, I find that sometimes my feelings are more accurately focused because of what I’ve written.

I’m sure for most of us there’s a part of us that is in the prose and we’d like to be unsure as to whether we lead the words, or the words lead us.

I dream up my stories, in bed, while showering, while biking or working out. I collect ideas, imagine the characters, scenarios etc. And, yes, sometimes (especially in the gym) I have trouble hiding my excitement…

When actually writing down the story, I use parts of the things I imagined before, but usually I change a lot and come up spontaneously with other things. Many things, which are really hot in my mind, just don’t work when written down, or I just lack the talent to put it into words.

I never had the urge to look up characters in the net, though. That would distract me from my own fantasy and even water down those images. Of course, guys I’ve seen here and there will most certainly influence the characters I have in my mind.

I practically never buy any lingerie though. My husband is not into that, and I wouldn’t know when or where to wear the stuff (no sex parties or hot club nights for me, I feel a bit too old for that…). And besides my healthy stock of toys, I don’t feel the need to buy anything more. I get more excited by pictures and stories than by physical stimuli, anyway.

@MCBrain, your latest story was really fantastic, so graphic, so insightful into the character… really hot. It’s a shame that you haven’t been writing for so long. I hope to read more and I’ll put your older stories on my “have to read”-list.

@nycboot that is an interesting idea. I like the idea of the creator becoming part of his creation/being overcome by his creation…there is definitely something to explore there. Even if I don’t end up doing it, I hope someone does.

I wish I had more control over my writing. I like to plan things, but sometimes when I get in the groove, inspiration takes over and I end up with ten more pages and bleeding fingers, but also something much more satisfying. It does occasionally feel like the story is leading me, rather I it lol.

So I guess in that sense, inspiration is an odious nag. I got an idea for a superhero story one day while I was working. I got so excited about it that I started working on it as soon as I got home. I mapped out the basic storyline and it turned out about thirty something chapters. In the planning stages. I think I have one chapter of it written and unedited, somewhere on my computer.

@Corin find it useful to just write what is happening on the screen, then focus on making it pretty later. If I can get the main idea across, the tone of heat, the appeal of the sexual acts that are happening, then I think I’ve done an ok job. People usually know whats happening in a sex scene, so they don’t need to be reminded that dicks are penetrating holes lol. I do find it useful to keep track of the tempo though. Different speeds for different fucks and I am now talking about sex in the most technical and unsexy way. Good on me.

And thank you for the compliment! I’m really glad you enjoyed it. I had more afterwards, with new developments for Carlito, explaining some plot stuff and eventually ending in a really hot fuck, but like I said in the foreward my motivation for it died. That said, there is another part I could probably add on that has already been written, and with such strong feedback from everyone, I think I can get my ass into gear and finish the story.

Writing porn made me read Marx. Does that count?

This might be a little too much information but oh well. I have a different problem while writing where I end up making myself orgasm because I get so into it. I usually only write when I’m horny, and if I end up blowing my load I will stop writing for the rest of the day, at least. This greatly slows down my progress when trying to get stories finished, lol

So you’re a real one-handed writer …

For my later stories, I’ve gone searching before I start for particular guys to be my models. This is because it’s easier to find a model that works for a cover before writing, and it’s also great reference material. It’s way easier to describe a guy who doesn’t change the way my memory does, and then I don’t have to check for consistency when editing. When I go searching for models, I get distracted. Still no purchases based on my search tho lol.

I am exactly like Swizzington. I have to be turned on to write. If the scene I’m writing ends up being too hot and I get too excited… I end up no longer being motivated to write for the next hour.

What exactly are you implying here?! :innocent:

I agree completely, though, you absolutely need to be in the mood to write porn stories, and the hotter the better. Sometimes I write myself into some kind of frenzy. But while I’m writing I tend to be very focused… hard, most of the time, but still focused on the story and with both hands on the keyboard… When I’m done, however… well… :smiling_imp:

Sounds like I need to practice keeping both hands on the keyboard like you, Martin.

Yes. Please, please elaborate more. I need to know exactly how this happened

Inspired by stories about smoking and Nazis I started writing a story about a man who escapes the same, only to find The People’s Nicotine-Free Rehabilitation Center. It goes about as well as can be expected in here. (The story is still in the works, and is likely to be for quite some time.)
