I recently posted a story to the site that featured a woman switching bodies with a man so I tagged it “Female To Male,” because, well, that’s what happens, but then I checked the tag after the fact and noticed that it was also being used for stories that feature transgender men. Should the “Female To Male Transformation” and “FTM Character” be categorically separated somehow?
There are dedicated “gender swap” and “transgender” tags but they encompass MTF transformations/characters as well, so two essentially opposite plot points show up in the same tag and unless the writer adds an additional “FTM” or “MTF” tag there’s no way to tell what the tags refer to.
There’s obviously a very small number of stories on the site with these themes to begin with but it did give me pause so I wanted to mention it.
