Hi gang… first time so kinda nervous…
To kick things off, and to get us back into the groove - I thought we’d begin with a relatively traditional challenge - and I’ve come up with four new prompts to choose from.
This is basically a choose your favourite film. Prompt with the most votes in the poll will be chosen, and the poll will be open until Friday the 27th of March, 2026.

CLUELESS (As If…!)
Your challenge, should you choose to accept it: write a story inspired by the concept of being completely, utterly… clueless.
A himbo who’s too dumb (or too pretty) to realise what’s happening to him. A genius who notices everything… except the one thing that matters. A world that’s shifting, changing, warping… and nobody seems to question it. “Hasn’t it always been this way?” A roommate, a friend, a teammate who is clearly different, but insists nothing’s changed. And somehow… you believe him.
A popular jock becomes softer, sweeter, more obedient, yet still thinks he’s the same alpha guy he’s always been. A sharp-minded student slowly loses his edge, but chalks it up to “just being tired lately.” A whole town drifts into a new normal, rewriting itself in real time, while its residents laugh off anything strange as if it’s always been that way. Or maybe you’re the only one who notices… until you don’t.
Is it ignorance? Denial? Manipulation? Or is being clueless just… easier?
The possibilities are endless. What’s your CLUELESS story?
MEAN GIRLS (Get In Loser, We’re Going Shopping…!)
Your challenge, should you choose to accept it: write a story centred around a mean character and the chaos that follows.
Queen bees. Mean boys. Social climbers and status kings. The kind of person who knows exactly how to twist the knife, and enjoys doing so. Petty cruelty, calculated humiliation, or just someone who’s always been a little too comfortable being awful.
Maybe a vicious twink rules his social circle with an iron fist… until someone finally pushes back. Maybe the bullied decide to rewrite the hierarchy entirely. Maybe kindness curdles into cruelty… slowly, subtly, until someone realises they’ve become the very thing they hated. Or maybe being mean isn’t punished at all… maybe it works. Maybe it spreads.
A clique that transforms its members to “fit in.” A social ladder where climbing means changing, inside and out. A mean streak that becomes something more powerful… something contagious.
Does the mean character get what’s coming to them? Or do they come out on top?

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA (Gird Your Loins…!)
Your challenge, should you choose to accept it: write a story inspired by power and what happens when it’s abused.
A boss who expects more than just work. A mentor who reshapes their protégé in ways they never agreed to. A therapist who blurs the line between help and control. A coach, a professor, a senior figure who knows exactly how much influence they hold… and how far they can push it.
Maybe it’s subtle at first. Expectations. Standards. “This is just how things are done.” Maybe it becomes something more - pressure, dependence, transformation. A young assistant moulded into something new. A rising star who pays a price for success. A system that rewards obedience… and punishes resistance.
Or maybe the power shifts. Maybe the one being controlled learns how to take it back. Maybe they turn the system inside out. Or maybe they don’t want to.
And of course… sometimes the “devil” isn’t metaphorical at all.
Who holds the power? Who gives it up? And who walks away changed?

BRING IT ON! (Brrr, It’s Cold In Here…!)
Your challenge, should you choose to accept it: write a story about rivalry, comeback, and setting things right… or taking things too far.
Two sides. Two teams. Two worlds colliding. The underdog who’s had enough. The dominant group that’s gone unchallenged for too long. A long-standing imbalance, social, physical, cultural, finally tipping the other way.
Maybe it’s a rivalry between teams, cliques, or communities. Maybe it’s about reclaiming something that was stolen or proving something that’s always been denied. A group that rises, transforms, adapts and and comes back stronger. A hierarchy that flips. A power dynamic that doesn’t just shift, but completely inverts.
A once-dominant group forced to confront what they’ve done. Old attitudes rewritten. Roles reversed. Lines crossed. Maybe justice is served. Maybe it’s revenge. Maybe it’s something in between.
