Hi all! This is an explainer post about the (unofficially affiliated) Discord server, Gay Erotic Fiction (GEF for short), which is run by Grant Spiral.
How do I join?
You can find an invite link to the GEF server on the main site, and you can also find an invite link to it here: Gay Erotic Fiction
Please note that you’ll need a Discord account to join the server (Discord accounts are free to set up, and can be set up on Discord’s website). If you have an account already, these links should allow you to join the server.
If you do choose to join, make sure to read and follow the GEF server’s rules. The server is not officially part of the site, so be a good online citizen and follow expected protocol when joining a new community!
Who runs the server?
The GEF server is run by Grant Spiral, who is also a mod (and friend) of the main site.
The main site’s owner and the site’s stewards do not run the server.
And the server is not officially affiliated with the site. It is a fully independent entity.
There is, however, a ton of overlap in community and ethos between the GEF server and our main site. In a way, the GEF server is akin to a ‘sister’ community of readers, writers, and erotica enthusiasts. And yes, there’s a particular focus on hypnosis, mind control, and TF kinks on the server—but, mostly, it’s just a gay-centered community space where people can chat.
Is any site business (polls, announcements, troubleshooting) conducted on the server?
Nope. All site business is done either on the site itself, or right here in the forum (which is officially affiliated with the site).
No official site business is handled on the server. You will never need an account on the GEF Discord server to participate fully in the site.
And in fact, many of the site’s mods are not active on the server—or part of the server at all.
So should I join the server?
Well—if you want to! And you can certainly peek in if you’re curious.
There are some readers (and even authors) from the main site who are active on the GEF server. But the majority of the site’s authors and readers are not on the server at all.
So if the server isn’t for you, don’t worry, you’re in decent company. And there are plenty of other great communities out there, too.
But if you like the community that you find on the GEF server, feel free to hop on in. I’m sure they will give you a warm welcome!
