GaySpiralStories is down for the time being

Since it seems people are afraid of legal repercussions just when using GSS, I’ve decided to shut the site down.

Make up your minds, people.

I, for one, approve this move and would have done the same thing.

Why risk having those stories on the site? Because of the principle. They are not pedophilic stories. And in the very very unlikely event that a lawful authority challenges that, we fight back.

If you are not comfortable with that, leave and remove your stories.

In my opinion it seems like an extreme measure to shutdown the site.

It’s extreme, but he’s making a stand to prove a point. I respect that.

I’m incredibly dissapointed in this action. An action that seem extreme and out of place.

He’s pissed off. I understand that. Can you imagine all the work it required to build this site? And then some anonymous whiner comes out of nowhere to attack it and pressure him into going against his principles? Let him cool down and don’t judge him. He said “for the time being…” for a reason.

Don’t let the anonymice get you down, Martin. Those of us who actively participate in the GSS community genuinely appreciate all you do. Speaking as an author who sometimes likes to set stories in high schools–not because I have a fetish for underage boys, but because it’s often the most logical way to tell the kinds of serial enslavement stories I like to write–I am very grateful that you’re standing up for my right to post those stories as-is.

It is sad to see this happening and I hope its only going to me temp. Martin does great work and just because some annon comments *if you don’t like the subject matter - then don’t read it . I am sorry to say this because, in the USA they don’t like the subject matter it mean the rest of the world( which is far bigger than the USA ) have to go without a really good site for both readers and authors…

This is heart-breaking for me. As a writer, this is the only place I post anymore – it is a loss that I will feel for a long time. I don’t even have copies of some of the stories on here I wrote. Loss…

@absman420 the only thing I can say is that he says temporary and also the data isn’t gone. So your stories still exist. So please don’t panic yet.

I think, hope really and in this day and age hope is necessary, this is just a walkabout. That the site will come back.

Okay. I am very sorry to read what happened to you Martin. I hope this is not a permanent measure, but I respect your decision and I think it’s right.

I know it is probably not possible or it is very complicated but… Is not possible to banish the IP of the anon troll to stop bothering? He/she is clearly obsessed and does not want to leave the site no matter how much he/she is criticizing it.

Another matter. I am very concerned about the integrity and legal security of this site, Martin and the administrators. Have you studied the laws of the place where the server is located? I don’t want Martin or anyone to have problems. And I think it is important to cover your back in that matter.

An affectionate hug.

Sorry to here you are shutting down the site. I understand your reasons. I hope I did not contribute to your fear, anger, or anxiety about the site. If I did I am truly sorry. Forgive me. I hope you can reopen it soon. CF

I do not agree with allowing anonymous postings, especially for stories. It easily allows for hatred & problems. Block IP numbers of those few individuals who want to spoil it for everyone else.

I’m all for removing anonymous posting. If you wish to comment make an account. Get an unlinked to your real life person email address, makea name you like, and use that.

Such a shame he has had to do this. Is there anything some of us can do to help. Maybe proof read have ability t delete inappropriate. You’ve done a great job holding this together. Such a shame.

As @Heru_Kane says, I’m certaint that Martin will let you get a copy of your stories.

I think disabling anonymous is something to seriously consider – and I would have posted this as a real user but it seems like new user registrations aren’t currently possible, or at least I can’t find where to do it.

tfw you’d rather delete your website before removing porn with underaged characters

While I understand where you’re coming from, in fairness to Martin, the laws around this subject are draconian. We don’t know the age of the author whose story triggered this discussion, but suppose he was 16 himself and he fantasizes about being taken by someone twice his age. What message are we sending him? Is it right that he can’t write a story about himself and his own fantasies…fantasies that would, from a purely sexual standpoint, be legal to carry out in most places? (And yes, you have to be 18 to post here, but realistically, even the best age verification systems on the Internet are trivially easy to bypass by a determined minor.)

I may not want to be exposed to the risk myself, but I completely understand why Martin chooses to fight this sort of rigid thinking that cares nothing for the circumstances surrounding the story.
