Exactly. The story is called “Coffee Fix - Duncan” and was written by Trylithin.
Most of the stories looked for in this thread are written by him. What a shame that he wanted us to take them down.
So I’ve been meaning to search for this story for awhile. It was about a man who used a spreadsheet to change the people at his work. He made a few people ahead of him for promotions dumber, and his boss smarter. His boss figures out what he did and hacks the program to affect the MC and make him a dumb blond muscleman.
It was here in 2015/2016, but i was never able to find it again (also during Hugh’s admin).
More complex than a spreadsheet (algorithmic magic formulas were involved) and some other differences, but this might be Texzilla’s Transition Into The Role from 2006. (Matches for corporate setting, reality change via personnel files, promotions, IQ changes, and a turnabout.)

I have no idea. That’s another thing Hugh would have to answer. I can only say, that all of his stories are marked deleted. If it was due to a guideline which is no longer in effect, I’d check if I can undelete them, but I’d have to know why they have been deleted in the first place.

Thanks everyone for your help. I found all their stories on the wayback machine, but I’ll avoid posting the link until we know why they were taken off (or an admin says it’s ok).
Texzilla explicitly asked me remove his stories. He had reasons, but they were his own and I don’t want to share them without his permission.

I was not aware of that. I’ll delete my post which linked to the stories on another site.
I should possibly clarify: he asked that his stories be removed specifically from the Spiral, as he didn’t want them associated with the Spiral. Posting links to them at different places sounds fine to me, unless he’s still lurking here and says otherwise.

I’ve found the story. It was deleted by me because the author requested it. He was afraid that his email could be associated with these stories and that could have ill effects for him.
Unfortunately he himself neglected to tick the ‘hide email address from public’ checkbox.
And since he could still Google his stories after I had deleted them, he demanded that I’d remove them from Google as well…
So there is no way to view the story anymore due to that :(??
